The Department of Environmental Education at the Environmental Board aims to familiarise people with nature and environmental protection and to guide the society’s mindset towards greater eco-friendliness. Concern for the surrounding environment can be best improved by raising awareness.
The Department of Environmental Education employs 18 specialists tasked with ensuring that environmental information reaches the population. The majority of environmental education activities are targeted at children.
The Environmental Board has developed nearly 100 educational programmes enabling to conduct natural history lessons in a nature reserve or at or around a school. Outdoor lessons provide exciting variety to children and help to reinforce the knowledge obtained in the classroom. Participation in the programmes is free of charge for kindergartens and schools.
