Kirjeldus:

The University of Tartu Natural History Museum was founded in 1802. The UT Natural History Museum combines the Museums of Zoology and Geology, as well as the Museums of Botany and Mycology formed on the basis of plant and fungus collections.
The educational activities of the museum and the development of its expositions are coordinated by the Department of Exhibitions and Environmental Education. The UT Natural History Museum is a research and study base for the students of the University of Tartu and other universities, also providing extra-curricular environmental education programmes for schools and kindergartens, courses for teachers, and exhibitions. The UT Natural History Museum carries out special interest days for learning about the diversity of nature, both at the museum and on nature trips; in addition, it compiles educational materials and hosts a zoology club for students.

The exposition of the UT Natural History Museum is currently closed for renovations. During renovation work, the museum’s Department of Exhibitions and Environmental Education continues its educational activities targeting pupils, teachers and nature enthusiasts.
